This course provides a comprehensive exploration of building decarbonization, equipping professionals with the knowledge and strategies needed to achieve sustainable, energy-efficient buildings. Through expert-led modules, participants will learn how to use energy efficient, electrification, renewable energy, low embodied carbon materials, and market-based approaches in the design of the next generation of high performance buildings. Featuring case studies from the US, Asia, the EU, and global leaders, the course highlights practical approaches, emerging technologies, and policy frameworks to guide building managers, developers, and policymakers toward impactful, scalable solutions for a low-carbon future. In this course you will hear from industry experts including Dr. Roshan Mehdizadeh Corsiglia, Senior Director at Google. Dr. Corsiglia is also a Stanford Adjunct Lecturer in Civil and Environmental Engineering. You will also gain insights from global experts including world-renowned Amory Lovins, Co-founder and Chairman Emeritus and former Chief Scientist of Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), where he continues to collaborate. Lovins is also a Senior Precourt Scholar for Integrative Design and Energy Efficiency at Stanford University.
