О курсе

Chemical Process Safety is a comprehensive course designed to provide learners with a strong foundation in identifying, assessing, and managing hazards within process industries. The course focuses on the principles of Process Safety Management (PSM), risk-based safety approaches, safety performance monitoring, and lessons learned from major industrial accidents. Learners will gain practical knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), and Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), which play a critical role in preventing catastrophic process failures. The course also explores Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies and industry-standard risk assessment techniques, including HAZOP, FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Event Tree Analysis (ETA), and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA). Through practical examples and case studies, learners will develop the skills required to identify process hazards, evaluate risks, implement effective safeguards, and contribute to safer, more reliable, and compliant industrial operations. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, learners will be able to: Explain the principles, elements, and implementation requirements of Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk-based process safety. Analyze process risks using qualitative and quantitative hazard assessment methodologies. Apply hazard analysis techniques such as HAZOP, FMEA, FTA, ETA, and LOPA to identify and mitigate process hazards. Interpret the concepts of SIS, SIL, and SIF and their role in process safety and risk reduction. Develop effective risk management strategies to improve operational safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
