Learn how to deploy and maintain wireless hardware while leveraging generative AI to automate diagnostics, documentation, and monitoring tasks in modern network environments. In this course, you’ll develop hands-on competencies in physically deploying and connecting wireless access points (WAPs), executing hardware replacements, performing field-replaceable unit (FRU) maintenance, and maintaining accurate network infrastructure documentation. You’ll also learn how to apply generative AI tools to generate explanations for network configuration segments, analyze and summarize network device logs for initial issue diagnosis, and generate simple scripts for routine network monitoring tasks. You’ll work across real-world environments including a Windows workstation for network configuration and diagnostics, a Cisco Meraki MR-56 Access Point and Meraki Dashboard for deployment and management, Google Cloud’s Generative AI Studio and Gemini models for prompt design and model tuning, and a Kali Linux environment with Python and Bash for scripting and automation. The instructional flow progresses from network configuration foundations and hardware deployment to applied AI-assisted analysis and automation, ensuring you can connect physical infrastructure expertise with intelligent tooling. This multi-author experience brings together perspectives from IBM, Packt, Google Cloud, and Akamai Technologies, offering diverse approaches to networking, AI integration, cybersecurity workflows, and scripting practices. Ideal for IT support specialists, network technicians, and aspiring network engineers who want to strengthen both their hardware maintenance skills and their ability to use generative AI for operational efficiency.
