О курсе

This course provides a focused understanding of mechanical and civil engineering principles for overhead AC transmission lines. It covers tower design, conductor behaviour, sag–tension analysis, vibration control, stringing methods, and testing in HV/EHV systems. Civil topics include soil investigation, foundation types, erection practices, safety measures, and modern analysis tools. Emphasis is on industry practices used in utility and EPC projects, supported by numerical analysis, MATLAB-based sag studies, and real-life case examples. Objectives: Learners will understand design principles of transmission towers, analyze mechanical loads, perform sag and tension calculations, assess environmental impacts, evaluate vibration and damping, and apply foundation design and safety practices in field conditions. Target Learners / Audience: Suitable for electrical and civil engineering students, graduate trainees, transmission line professionals, utility personnel, and engineers seeking practical expertise in transmission line design, construction, and maintenance.
