As modern vehicles become increasingly software-defined, engineers must understand how mechanical systems, electric powertrains, control software, and advanced driver-assistance technologies interact across a wide range of operating conditions. Vehicle simulation and model-based design help engineers evaluate performance, identify integration issues, and reduce reliance on costly physical prototypes. Through hands-on exercises, you will create and customize full vehicle models, configure driving scenarios, and use simulation to evaluate vehicle behavior. You'll generate 3D animations to visualize vehicle motion, compare vehicle designs, and analyze simulation results across a variety of operating conditions. By the end of the course, you'll be able to build and evaluate virtual vehicle models, interpret simulation results, and assess performance across operating conditions. You'll gain practical skills in simulation-based design, scenario-based testing, and engineering decision-making used by automotive systems, integration, and ADAS engineers. All activities are completed using Simulink, and a free software license is provided for the course.
